About

Who researches and manages coyotes in the Bay Area?

In 2024, the Bay Area Coyote website was launched by Dr. Christine Wilkinson in 2024 in an effort to create a centralized hub for people and organizations working on coyotes in the region. There are many individuals, agencies, and institutions involved in coyote research, monitoring, management, and conservation in the Bay Area. Research foci include population genetics, diet, human-coyote coexistence, habitat use, predator-prey interactions, and more. Managers are largely focused on fostering coexistence between coyotes and people, and empowering our communities to be amazing stewards of the natural world – which includes coyotes! If you know of someone who should be included below, please contact us.
